β€œIt is an honor to be a finalist,” said Bridget β€œI would love to see more female pitmaster competing.”

Bridget Ribsam, head cook of Aces & Eights BBQ, is a seasoned barbeque pro who has been competing for over five years has been named one of the top ten finalists in the 3rd Annual Cowboy Charcoal Fire & Ice Women’s Championship Barbeque Series.

For 2018, Cowboy Charcoal has decided to add new twists and turns to help heat up the series. New to this year’s qualifying process was the introduction of a HOT PASS, which allowed competitors a chance to go straight into the finals by being crowned the highest scoring for a female at five participating BBQ events throughout the country. Bridget snagged the last highly-coveted HOT PASS at American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri

I have always loved to cook and I am very competitive,” said Bridget. “I am super excited to be a part of Fire & Ice. I can't wait!”

Bridget has won several Reserve Grand and Grand Champ awards throughout the years, but her favorite part of competitive barbeque is the camaraderie with her fellow competitors.

“My favorite part is all the friends we have made through competing,” said Bridget. Also noting that “BBQ cooks are great people.”

This will be Bridget’s first year competing in the ladies-only challenge. Bridget also shared her thoughts on being a part of a competition that is devoted to spotlighting female pitmaster in the barbeque world.

“It is an honor to be a finalist,” said Bridget “I would love to see more female pitmaster competing.”

In addition to learning she had secured one of the top ten finalist spots, the first-year competitor was overjoyed to learn about Cowboy Charcoal upping the ante for this year’s competition by adding an opportunity to earn up to $15,000 in additional prize money for the charity of her choice! Bridget and the other lady pitmasters have two ways to make a difference. Cowboy Charcoal will match the Grand Prize earnings of the Fire & Ice Grand Champion with a check for $10,000 to the charity of her choice. Additionally, the ladies have a chance to win a $5,000 donation for their selected charity through the #QueWithPurpose social media contest. Click here to view Bridget’s video and cast your vote!
